Privacy Policy.
Kloni is built on a simple principle: your thoughts are yours. Everything stays on your device. There is no account to create, no server to sync with, and no tracking of any kind.
What Kloni collects
During ordinary use, Kloni collects nothing. Your mind maps, notes, tags, and attachments are stored exclusively on your Mac, in the library folder you choose. None of this content is ever transmitted anywhere.
The only situations in which data leaves your device are described in the sections below.
Feedback submissions
Kloni includes an optional in-app feedback form. When you submit
feedback, the following information is sent to
Formspree (formspree.io), the
third-party service that delivers feedback messages to us:

Formspree processes this data on our behalf solely to deliver the
message. Their privacy policy is available at
formspree.io/privacy. We do not use this data for
any purpose other than responding to your feedback.
Fetching from a link you provide
When you paste a URL into a node, Kloni makes a single outbound request to that URL to read its page title and display it as the node label. Importing from a link — a web page, a YouTube video, a Google Maps place — works the same way, except that Kloni reads the page's content in order to build the outline you asked for. No identifying information is attached to either request beyond what a standard HTTP request contains — the URL itself and a generic user-agent string.
Both happen only when you paste or import a link yourself; nothing is fetched in the background. What comes back is stored locally with your map, and Kloni retains no record of the request. Note that the server at the URL you provide will receive and may log this request according to their own privacy practices.
Third parties
Kloni does not share data with any third party except as described in this policy. No analytics services, advertising networks, or crash-reporting tools are embedded in the app.
Your data and how to remove it
All mind maps, settings, and session state are stored on your device. You can delete them at any time by removing the relevant folders:
~/Documents/KloniMaps
(or your chosen library folder)
~/Library/Application Support/kloni
Uninstalling Kloni does not automatically remove these folders. For a complete removal, delete them manually after uninstalling.
Children's privacy
Kloni does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data during ordinary use, it is suitable for all ages.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Kloni after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
